Annual Membership dues are just like a magazine subscription. It gives you 365 days of membership in the VFW. With this being the first year that they are coming into effect it will be a process that we are not use to. The basic breakdown of what is going to happen is:

If you are an annual member and you pay your dues before Jan your expiration will be Jan of the next year. If you pay after that date whatever day your dues are processed at National will be the new expiration date. Example would be that you send in your dues to National on 1 Feb 2015 and National processed them on the 15 Feb. Your new expiration date would be 15 Feb 2016.

There is also a Lifetime Membership option that features a one-time payment, the cost of which depends upon your age, that ends up being much more economical than the annual membership plan.  Contact us at vfwpost5384@gmail.com or come to a meeting and discuss it with the Quartermaster.

Most of these dues go to the National and State VFW organizations to support their advocacy and other programs supporting their "Nobody Does More for Veterans" mission.  The remainder goes towards the local post that you are a part of to help them with the their own outreach and veteran support programs as well as to defray some administration costs.

Annual membership Dues $42 and due on the anniversary of the date you joined the VFW or the date of annual renewal (see "What are Membership Dues and how do they work?" FAQ for more information).  Dues can be paid via the Quartermaster of your local post, directly online at , or (for renewals) by mail when the invoice arrives in the mail.
